About Seraiki

For those with no knowledge about this language, Seraiki is the most widely spoken language in Pakistan and the first language of more than 40 million people in the subcontinent. It has a very rich culture and is the representative language of Indus Valley Civilization.

Seraiki Editor

Wasaib Text Editor is the first ever Seraiki notepad. It is a basic Seraiki text editor with it, you can read, compose, save and publish Seraiki language to web, with its special Unicode characters. You can also capture and export Seraiki text as bitmap (.bmp) picture format file.

Wasaib.com is the only online resource on Seraiki heritage, language & culture. The website has now more than 2500 active users from across the world.

The website is currently receiving an average of more than 4,000 hits every single day with majority of our traffic originating from outside Pakistan. This is more than the circulation of a regional newspaper. The site has been already featured on various leading websites and also being advertised on almost 130 websites across the world through Google Network.

Seraiki (سرائیکی) has been variably called by different names such as Seraiki, Baluchki, Partake, Jagdali, Riasti, Bahawalpuri, Derewali, Multani, Western Punjabi, Lanhda, Uchi, Thallochi, Shahpuri and Hindko in past by neighboring people but thanks to the recent cultural awareness the name 'Seraiki' given by the Sindhi brothers, has been accepted and established universally beyond all doubts. In fact Seraiki language is spoken in substantially large area and the names given above are its different accents.

The main Seraiki speaking areas are Multan, Bahawalpur, Dera Ghazi Khan, Dera Ismail Khan and most parts of Sargodha division. Seraiki is also spoken widely in Sind and Baluchistan provinces of Pakistan. It has many sweet dialects and is considered as the language of love.

Seraiki language is rich in vocabulary and contains many words for different objects like different words for domestic animals according to their age and condition, which cannot be alternatively used. Seraiki is rich in idioms, idiomatic phrases, lullabies, folk stories, folk songs and folk literature. The folk literature for children is also abundant.

If you are a published Seraiki author or know someone who would like to make their books available to thousands of internet visitors, please contact us immediately at here. All you have to do is send us a scanned copy of your book in a CD and we will publish it on the website.
